What a wonderful time we had sharing in the Pentecost celebrations and celebrating His Spirit at work in Consett!

It was such a joy to see people come to faith, choosing to become members of The Salvation Army, but most importantly wanting to follow Jesus and get to know Him personally.

“Most of my life I thought God had abandoned me, but it turned out I abandoned God…. I forgot where to look for Him and in my darkest time I started noticing him working through people and their deeds…. All by the Holy Spirit” G.C.

We thank God that we are able to welcome new people again this morning.

Today, many of those who belong to Consett Salvation Army shared a wonderful trip to Lindisfarne Holy Island. It was a truly special and beautiful day enjoyed by everyone. The weather was lovely, friendships were strengthened, and there was such a sense of joy throughout the day.

At Consett Salvation Army, everyone is welcome and everyone can belong. Exciting things are happening at Consett as our Church continues to grow, just as the early church grew through the work of the Holy Spirit.

Tomorrow is especially exciting as we officially welcome 4 new members during our relaxed café-style worship gathering. And because it’s the birthday of the Church there will be bunting, party hats, party poppers and … there will even be cake! 🎂

This morning we took time to reflect on who Jesus is to us, and who we are to Him. It was a meaningful reminder that understanding this helps guide us to live our lives with purpose and intention.

✨ Everyone is Welcome! ✨

Today we had our Welcome to the Salvation Army session; a chance to share together and explore what the Salvation Army is really about: what we do, what we stand for, and the heart behind our mission.

At its heart, the Salvation Army is a church, a church that wants to be like Jesus, welcome like Jesus, and create a place where everyone can belong to God’s family.

Over the past few years, months, and weeks, it’s been wonderful to welcome new people.

💛 We are an inclusive church, and there is room here for you.
If you’re looking for hope, faith, connection, community, or simply a place to belong, you are invited.

Yesterday we held our first Connections Friendship Group and it was a great success! We enjoyed games, conversations, brain challenges, and most importantly, spending time together and building friendships.

Connections is still the same welcoming group, just with a slight change to the programme. Every 3rd Monday of the month will now be our Friendship Group, still starting with a light lunch at 11:45am followed by fun activities.

On the other Mondays, Connections will continue as usual with a light lunch followed by a guest speaker.

Everyone is very welcome to join us on any Monday, we’d love to see you there!

Jesus says, “Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Join us this Sunday for Café Church as we start our theme for the coming weeks.

We’ll start at 10:15am with a cuppa, pastries, and fruit, followed by a relaxed, welcoming service together.

Whether you are new, exploring faith, or have followed Jesus for years, you are very welcome.

🌿 Easter Sunday: Hope Has the Final Word

📖 Luke 24:6 “He is not here; He has risen!”

Easter is the declaration that darkness doesn’t win.
Jesus is alive and because of that, hope is alive too.
New beginnings are possible.
Life is stronger than death.
Love has the final word.

Reflection:
The resurrection means hope is never out of reach.
