𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴

Last evening, Comber District LOL No. 15 held their September District meeting at Schomberg House.

Before the meeting, both Comber District and Ballyknockan Purple Heroes were delighted to present donations to Dementia NI, supporting the valuable work they do for individuals and families affected by dementia.

Comber District presented a donation of £400, raised at their recent Coffee Morning, while Ballyknockan Purple Heroes presented £150, raised on the morning of our Big Breakfast.

Following the meeting, members were given an interesting and informative tour of the Museum of Orange Heritage at Schomberg House, learning more about the history and heritage of the Orange Institution.

A fantastic day in Killyleagh for the Twelfth celebrations. The Brethren were in great spirits as the Lodge formed up and prepared to leave the Assembly Field this morning, pride, colour, and tradition on full display.

What a brilliant night for Ballyknockan Purple Heroes LOL 1057 at the Saintfield District No. 5 Mini Twelfth!

We were absolutely delighted to be led by the William Sterritt Memorial Flute Band from Banbridge, top‑class music, superb discipline, and a sound that lifted the whole parade. An honour for us to walk behind musicians of your calibre.

A massive thank‑you to all our Brethren for the fantastic turnout. The support, the spirit, and the pride on display made the evening something special for everyone involved.

Great night, great company, great music, onward to the Twelfth!

This evening, the Officers and Members of Ballyknockan Purple Heroes will join Comber District at their annual Somme Commemoration Parade.

As we take part, we pause to remember all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, reflecting on their courage, duty, and the legacy they have left behind. Their service and sacrifice continue to be remembered with gratitude, and we honour the freedoms we have today because of them.

𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐎𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐍𝐨.𝟐 𝟏𝟑𝐭𝐡 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐊𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐲𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐠𝐡

𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞

The Procession will move off from the Assembly Field at 12.00 pm headed by District Officers and Distinguished Guests followed by District Nos. Saintfield No.5, Castlewellan No. 12, Comber No. 15, and Ballynahinch No. 17.

The route is approximately 1.8 miles from the Assembly Field (Shrigley Road) to the Demonstration Field (Comber Road) via Castle Lane, Plantation Street, Catherine Street, Irish Street, Seaview, Shore Street, High Street, Dufferin Place, Frederick Street, Cross Street and on to the Comber Road.

Platform proceedings will commence at 2.00 pm and will feature a short service of Worship, hymns, and the Resolutions. After the Orange proceedings are completed there will be entertainment provided by Willie Drennan and other local artists. It would be appropriate that during the Platform proceedings the playing of any musical instrument will NOT be permitted.

𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞

The Return Parade will commence at 4.00pm and will be in the following order District Nos.12, 17,15, 5 and 2. The return route will be Comber Road, Cross Street, Frederick Street and on to the Shrigley Road where the Buses will be waiting (approx. 1.2 miles). Lecale District will return to the Orange Hall on Frederick Street and those Lodges with Busses will go on to Shrigley Road.

𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠
Ample Public parking will be available at the Assembly Field (Shrigley Road) and opposite the Demonstration Field (Comber Road) at a cost of £10 per vehicle.
There will be Limited Disabled spaces available in the Demonstration field (Blue Badge Holders Only) on a first come basis. All cars for the Demonstration Field should be parked no later than 11.30am.

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬
The town will be closed to all through traffic from 11.00 am and diversions will be in operation. Traffic Wardens/Police will be on duty with regards to illegal parking.

𝐀𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬
Areas of Killyleagh are designated as alcohol and drug free zones. This being the case ALL Lodges and Bands are requested to observe the local laws. The PSNI have been advised that the District and organising Committee want the Police to enforce the regulations. The Demonstration Field will be an Alcohol Free Zone.

The Worshipful Master, Deputy Master, Officers and Brethren of Ballyknockan Purple Heroes LOL 1057 extend their sincere thanks to everyone who attended our Big Breakfast this morning.

It was fantastic to welcome so many new faces and enjoy a morning of fellowship together.

We also wish to acknowledge and thank our Worshipful District Master, District Officers, members of our local WLOL lodges, and all visiting brethren for their valued support.

A special added surprise was the attendance of Jim Shannon MP for Strangford and Michelle McIlveen MLA, whose presence was greatly appreciated.

Thanks to the generosity of those present, the Dementia NI donation bucket raised £52. This event is always a special day for the lodge, bringing together our families, friends, and community.

Finally, a huge thank‑you to everyone who helped prepare and serve the breakfasts. Without your hard work and support, an event like this simply wouldn’t be possible.
