This week we celebrate the retirement of Sadie Jefferson following 75 years of service in the same pharmacy in Portrush.
Sadie Jefferson started working as a teenager in a small pharmacy in Portrush, beginning a lifelong dedication to caring for the local community from the same Main Street pharmacy.
Her warmth, dedication and commitment have made a lasting impact on generations of patients and customers across the town.
Over the years, Sadie has also been a passionate supporter of local fundraising efforts. From taking on several skydives to leading the charge in support of Action Cancer and other local charities, she has helped raise vital funds for causes that matter deeply within the community.
The photographs shared include a beautiful glimpse into her journey over the decades, including a special image from September 1951 showing Sadie with Mr John W. “Jack” McConaghy at the side of the Medical Hall in Main Street, Portrush. The photograph is shared with the kind permission of the McConaghy family.
Alongside Sadie in the first photograph is Lyndsay Sinclair, our Pharmacy Manager in Portrush, who has had the privilege of working alongside Sadie and celebrating this remarkable milestone with her.
Everyone at Gordons would like to thank Sadie for her lifelong dedication to community pharmacy and to the people of Portrush. We wish her a very happy and well deserved retirement.
