We use the old calendar (Julian) and are composed of a number of Clergy of multiple nationalities; services are conducted with a combination of English, Church Slavonic and Romanian. All are welcome. Please note however, only Orthodox who have prepared and c

🇬🇧 Beloved faithful, on Saturday 29 August, on the New Calendar, we will prayerfully commemorate the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist.

The service schedule is as follows:
08:00 - Matins
09:15 - Divine Liturgy
11:00 - Memorial Service for the Departed

We warmly invite you to join us in prayer as we honour the memory of Saint John the Baptist.

We kindly remind you that Saturday is a fasting day, in observance of this solemn commemoration.

🇷🇴 Astăzi îl sărbătorim pe Părintele Andrew cu frumosul prilej al împlinirii vârstei de 70 de ani. Ne rugăm ca Bunul Dumnezeu să-i dăruiască mulți ani binecuvântați, cu sănătate, putere, înțelepciune și slujire rodnică. La mulți ani binecuvântați Părinte!

Our parish warmly invites you to join us for the patronal feast of our Church, as we gather together in prayer and fellowship!

The service schedule is as follows:
The Hours - 09:00am
Divine Liturgy - 09:30am

Following the Divine Liturgy, we invite you to stay for a fellowship meal (agape), so that we may continue our celebration together in a spirit of joy and community.

🇬🇧 Beloved faithful, on 20 June 2026, our community in Colchester experienced a truly special day, filled with joy and blessings.

God poured out His grace upon our brother Antonie, deeming him worthy to receive the Holy Mystery of Ordination to the Holy Diaconate and calling him to the service of the Holy Altar.

Dear Father Deacon Antonie, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and assure you of the love, esteem, and prayers of our entire community!

We pray that the grace you received through the laying on of the Archbishop’s hands may continually strengthen you, enlighten your mind and guide your steps in the sacred ministry entrusted to you. May this blessed day remain the beginning of a fruitful ministry, filled with grace, peace and spiritual joy for the benefit of the Church and the glory of God.

May God grant you many blessed years in the service of the Holy Altar! 🙏🏼

🇷🇴 Iubiți credincioși, în data de 20 iunie 2026, comunitatea noastră din Colchester a trăit o zi deosebită, plină de bucurie și binecuvântare.

Dumnezeu a revărsat harul Său asupra fratelui nostru Antonie, învrednicindu-l să primească Sfânta Taină a Hirotoniei în treapta Diaconiei, chemându-l la slujirea Sfântului Altar.

Dragă Părinte Diacon Antonie, vă adresăm din inimă felicitările noastre și vă încredințăm de dragostea, prețuirea și rugăciunile întregii comunități!

Ne rugăm ca harul primit prin punerea mâinilor arhierești să vă întărească necontenit, să vă lumineze mintea și să vă călăuzească pașii în slujirea sfântă pe care ați primit-o. Fie ca această zi binecuvântată să rămână începutul unei slujiri rodnice, pline de har, pace și bucurii duhovnicești, spre folosul Bisericii și spre slava lui Dumnezeu.

Dumnezeu să vă dăruiască mulți ani binecuvântați în slujba Sfântului Altar! 🙏🏼

🇬🇧Christ is Ascended!

Mr. Daniel and Mrs. Lăcrămioara from our parish created this beautiful shrine for Saint John Maximovitch, adorned with an original cassock of the saint.

We also thank Mr. Antonie who painted the icon of the Saint in a truly remarkable way.

We pray that Saint John Maximovitch, the great wonderworker, may protect us all and intercede before God for our community and for all those who seek his help with faith!

🇷🇴 Hristos S-a Înălțat!

Domnul Daniel și doamna Lăcrămioara din parohia noastră au realizat această frumoasă raclă ce îl reprezintă pe Sfântul Ioan Maximovici, împodobită cu un veșmânt original al sfântului.

Mulțumim și domnului Antonie care a pictat chipul Sfântului într-un mod cu totul deosebit.

Ne rugăm ca Sfântul Ioan Maximovici, mare făcător de minuni, să ne ocrotească pe toți și să fie mijlocitor înaintea lui Dumnezeu pentru comunitatea noastră și pentru toți cei care îi cer ajutorul cu credință!
