Nice to see it's still there.

“ - 1 August 1864, a set within the wall of , was unveiled at a ceremony attended by the Rector and Churchwardens of St James’ Parish, a large number of parishioners and the band of the Essex Rifles.”

I know one or two people are still looking at this page, but this will be the last post. The church has now been sold, the contracts exchanged, and new owners ready to take over.

I am afraid I don't who bought it - my duties ended once the church was cleared - but the past members of Trinity sincerely hope that the building enjoys its new life.

Thank you again for all the support you gave us in the 20 happy years we celebrated in our lovely church.

I see that a few people have visited the page lately, but still nothing to report. The building will be going to auction this month, so as soon as there is something certain happening, I will let folks know. In the meantime, check out Upmarket for my report on our Thankfulness Service.

Nothing much to report, other than the church has been put on the market (as you may have noticed from the large sign outside!) The WW1 Memorial stone is now in its new home at St. Anne and St. Laurence church - many thanks to them for agreeing to re-house it. More news as I know it. Take care.

I can see that we have a few visits to our page, so just a quick update;

The church has been pretty much cleared, and I am delighted to say - as an avid recycler - that most of the things have gone to new homes, including all the chairs to Elmstead Cricket Club. which is just wonderful.

As you may know, there are other churches in the Tendring Methodist Circuit which are also, sadly, closing and being put up for sale, and Trinity will be one of these.

More information as things progress.

It's good to see that a few people are visiting our page, and I wish I had some more news to pass on. Things are progressing with clearing the church, with a view to our next step. I still have some memorial plaques, so if anyone can help me return these to the families, I would be most grateful:

I have noticed that we have had a few more visits to our FB page, and suspect that this is because news has travelled that - sadly and reluctantly - we are having to shut our doors permanently. We have been struggling financially for quite some time, and can no longer raise enough to pay our bills. Those of you who live locally in Elmstead will see our announcement in Upmarket, but for all of you who have supported us in any way over the years, please accept our sincere thanks and gratitude.

We would have been celebrating the 20th anniversary of our new building last weekend, but - like many other events - had to put this on hold. We WILL be doing this, possibly next year when the building 'come of age!' Keep searching out those old photos you may have; anything connected with the old OR new chapel would be lovely to have on display once we have fixed a new date. At the moment we remain closed, but will be running our Craft, coffee and cake mornings once we have the all clear to do so. In the meantime, I may well be running a fundraising event - safely - as, sadly, the bills still need to be paid! We enjoy SUCH support from our friends and neighbours, and look forward to welcoming you all to Trinity, hopefully, in the not too distant future. Until then, take care and stay safe.

It is with regret that we have decided to postpone all of our forthcoming events: Coffee, Cakes and Crafts, 21st March/18th April, and Books and Biscuits, 7th April. Thank you for your past support, and we look forward to running these events in the future. In the meantime, stay safe.

Thank you everyone who came to our two events last Saturday, whether to sell or to buy. We raised £250 for our church funds, and £132 for The Robin Cancer Trust, and everyone agreed it was a lovely day!
