St Mary’s Polstead All are welcome in our historic church in the heart of Suffolk. We are part of the Leavenheath, Nayland, Polstead Stoke by Nayland and Wiston Benefice.

We hold regular services and are open daily for private prayer.

Join us for a friendly and relaxed Holy Communion service this Sunday at 11.15am.

Whether you’re a regular churchgoer, visiting for the first time, bringing children, or simply curious, you’ll find a warm welcome waiting for you.

The service will include familiar hymns, Bible readings, prayers, and Holy Communion, followed by refreshments and a chance to chat after the service.

🥔 SAVE THE DATE FOR POLSTEAD’S POTATO PARTY! 🥔

Join us for an afternoon of fun, games, refreshments, raffle, tombola and a very important Best-Dressed Potato Competition!

📍 Oak Tree House, Straight Road, Polstead Heath
📅 Saturday 4th July
⏰ 2pm – 4.30pm

All in aid of St Mary’s Church PCC funds, with the first £200 raised going to the Community Pantry.

There’ll also be a special raffle prize of a £50 voucher for The Crown at Stoke by Nayland.

Churchgoer, visitor or just curious — everyone is warmly welcome, so please bring your friends and join in the fun!

If you are able to donate raffle or tombola prizes, these can be left at Polstead Shop or at Oak Tree House before Thursday 2nd July. Thank you for your support.

🌿 The Friends of St Mary’s Polstead AGM 🌿

Everyone is warmly welcome to come along to the AGM of The Friends of St Mary’s Polstead on Friday 22nd May at 6.30pm at Polstead Mill.

The Friends help care for the fabric of our beautiful church and churchyard, preserving this special place for future generations.

You do not need to be an existing member to attend, and new Friends are always very welcome.

A swift AGM will be followed by refreshments and, weather permitting, a wander around the garden.

As we mark St David’s Day, we’ll reflect on the saint’s final sermon — his simple but profound encouragement:

“Do the little things.”

As we enter Lent, that will be our focus this year at St Mary’s — faithfulness in small acts of kindness, prayer, generosity and care. The quiet, steady things that shape holy lives.

We’ll also be singing traditional hymns set to beautiful Welsh tunes as part of our celebration.
