Wednesday 7th October, 10am – 12.30pm

🌿 Join us for a day caring for our historic churchyard.
We’ll be raking and clearing the cut grass and helping to keep this special place looking its best.

🕙 Arrive from 9.45am – we’ll begin at 10am
☕ Coffee break at 11am
🌱 Working until 12.30pm (or earlier if the work is finished)

Please bring gardening gloves, rakes (if you have them), and a willingness to join in!
All ages welcome – come for an hour or the whole morning.

We’re delighted to welcome Estampie to St Mary’s Church, Polstead as part of the final Suffolk Villages Festival.

Travel back to Paris in around 1300, where music and dance filled royal courts, monasteries and village squares. Performed by the acclaimed medieval ensemble Mediva, this lively programme combines infectious dance music with beautiful vocal and instrumental pieces, bringing the sounds of the Middle Ages vividly to life.

Whether you’re a regular concert-goer or simply curious to hear music unlike anything you’ve experienced before, this promises to be a fascinating and entertaining morning.

🌳 Gospel Oak Service – Sunday 2nd August | 11.15am

Everyone is warmly invited to join us for our annual Gospel Oak Service at St Mary’s Church, Polstead.

This special service commemorates the preaching of St Cedd, who is believed to have proclaimed the Gospel beneath the ancient Gospel Oak in AD 653, bringing the Christian faith to this part of Suffolk.

We will gather beside the Gospel Oak in the grounds of Polstead Hall (by the kind permission of the Owles family) for a welcome and opening prayers before processing into St Mary’s Church for our Family Communion Service.

During the service, the Lay Elders of the LSPNW Benefice will also be recommissioned for the year ahead.

Whether you are a regular member of the congregation, a visitor, or simply curious about this beautiful local tradition, you will be made very welcome.
