Restore day retreat at Wheatlands is a God-focused creative day retreat. We aim for it to be a day of spiritual and physical refreshment.

I am a keen crafter and have been creative for most of my life and have enjoyed making and creating items for many years. I have found that the creative process has enabled me to focus on God especially during challenging periods in my life. Being creative has helped the healing process and restored my mental, emotional and spiritual health. I have seen this process restore others too.

My hope is that you will join us in my home studio and feel God’s prompting as you meet with him in the quiet, through prayer, or as you are inspired to create something. It may be that you come for some time out, to learn a new skill or because you would like to experience God’s healing presence. Whatever the reason, you will be very welcome. We want you to feel free to use the day however you wish, so God can meet you where you are.

We have called the day retreat Restore as the aim of the day retreat is a contemplative day of creativity, prayer and meditation or just simply time to rest. Restore is for anyone whether or not you have tried anything arty before. The idea is to give you a space from your own space to spend time with God. Our main aim is to use creativity as a way to get closer to God. You can choose to do a craft activity in the morning and then do a prayer activity in the afternoon, or the other way around. There’s no need to feel you must complete something.

The main aim is to listen to God in your activity. We will do this by spending time in prayer as well as meditating on the scriptures during the day. Crafting activities vary from sewing activities such as patchwork to woodwork such as scroll sawing and glass copper foiling. We have keen experienced team members who will be happy to demonstrate the crafts.

The day will run from 9:45am to 4:00pm. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day.

You will be part of a small group of just four on retreat plus two or three team members so there will be plenty of space for you to find an area for contemplation and plenty of opportunity for you to try a craft.

The dates we intend to run are on the schedule page on restorespace.co.uk. Please contact us to book a place. We request a suggested donation of £25 to cover materials and refreshments
