Outline of initial 6-week bell-ringing course
The first 6-week part one course aims to teach you how to handle a church tower bell safely and to ring with other members of the band in peal. A rough outline is as follows, although it will be adapted to suit the circumstances of each ringer and the band as a whole. Each session will last between one and one-and-a-half hours. The day and timing are still to be finalised, subject to numbers.
Ringing is an ultimate team activity – great ringing requires everyone to work together and help each other. It’s more than a team – we call ourselves a band because we do have to work as one – there is no room for solo performances!!!
