This week we looked at the story of Moses and how God rescued his people from slavery in Egypt. People today remember this event as “Passover” as I thought what better way to remember this part of God’s story than with a game of Passover pass the parcel.
The children took turns at passing the present around and each layer contained a hidden word which made up a message related to Moses journey. Together we learnt that God not only did amazing things through Moses but that he can do amazing things through ordinary people like you and me as well. 🙏❤️

Tonight we focused on the story of Moses at LIFt Juniors! The children did a great job at remembering the details of the story and how Moses was God’s chosen leader to bring the Israelites out from slavery. The story has more amazing actions than a Marvel Movie!

A burning bush 🔥 🌳
A staff turned to snakes 🐍 🦯
Plagues 🐸 🪰 💀
Rivers turned to blood 🩸💧
A pillar of fire and cloud ☁️
The parting of a sea 🌊

At LIFt Seniors this week, we looked at Joseph and unpacked the story through picture and story cards. Many of the children knew the story and could put them in order, but when we delved deeper we looked at during Joseph’s ‘rollercoaster ride’ - the children also identified that in the good times and the bad times God was with Joseph! And we reminded each other that God is always with us in today too! (Deuteronomy 31:8)

We studied the story of Joseph this week at LIFt Juniors and worked through the long and turbulent story of Joseph being his father’s favourite son, then sold in to slavery, found favour with Potiphar, was accused of wrong doing and thrown in jail and then ascended to Pharaoh’s advisor and reconciled with his family. God was faithful in all matters and stayed by Joseph’s side throughout his whole life.
Pizza, Chocolate Mousse, games and craft rounded out the evening of fun. It was a lovely fun evening!

Joseph had a lot of bad things happen to him. He was sold in to slavery, accused of something he didn’t do, thrown in jail and separated from his family. But in Genesis 50:20, Joseph tells his brothers:

"As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today."

God can turn our bad situations in to His goodness if we trust in Him and give our circumstances over to His perfect plan

LIFt last night was brilliant! After Spaghetti and meatballs, we delved deep in to the story of Noah’s Ark and the children took turns playing Noah finding and matching animals in to pairs to go in to the Ark and matching the story cards to tell the whole story of God’s grace and mercy as well as the evidence behind why we can believe this story even today.
We also worked on tissue paper rainbow together and we are very thankful to N.Joy Crafts in Clevedon for helping us with the craft supplies for our evening.

Had a fantastic time at LIFt last night learning about the story of Noah. After recalling the story, we imagined ourselves as Noah, what we would have done if God had sent the flood to us, we did a matching game seeing if we could get the animals in to pairs and then made Playdoh rainbows to remember God’s promises! It was a lot of fun. All the children were lovely company! See you in two weeks Juniors! 🌈
