It is with deep sadness, we share the news of the sudden passing of Revd Rachel Cave, a much-loved and deeply respected priest who faithfully served the Cleckheaton churches of St John's, St Luke's, and Whitechapel for many years. Rachel also served her curacy at St Mary’s Church in Gomersal.
Rachel was a woman of warmth, wisdom, and unwavering faith. She guided our communities with compassion, kindness, and a servant heart. Her love for nature reflected her closeness to the Creator - often seeing God in the quiet beauty of the world around her.
Though her time with us feels far too short, her legacy of loving service and faith will remain with us always. Please hold Robert and the family and all who mourn in your prayers.

‘If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord.
So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.’ (Romans 14:8)

Eternal rest grant unto Rachel, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon her.
May she rest in peace. Amen.

Service times for Holy Week at Cleckheaton Churches. All very welcome!

A Memorial Service will be held in memory of Joan Pinder at Whitechapel Church on Saturday 28th October at 11am.

The funeral of Trevor Bowers will take place on Monday 30th October at Whitechapel Church 11:45am, followed by Committal at Huddersfield Crematorium at 1:15pm. All Welcome!
Sunday 5th November at 11am - All Saints’ and All Souls’ Service. During this service we will remember those who have died. There will be a list at the back of church to add names and these will be read out during this service.
