Across the UK, millions of older people are suffering from loneliness and isolation.

Our new short film, A Cup of Tea, highlights that reality and the need to create spaces where older people can gather to build friendships, enjoy activities, and hear the good news of Jesus in a gentle and accessible way through the local church.

On Sunday we gathered together for a joyful Service of Thanksgiving 🙏🏻 to celebrate the completion of our Way Maker Project and the blessing of the new gate and path linking the Recreation Ground and Churchyard.

It was a privilege to welcome the Rt Revd Bishop of Dorking ✝️ who preached at the service and led the blessing, alongside members of our wider community including our local MP. Together we gave thanks for all that has been achieved with this project and prayed that this enhanced space would be a place where many will encounter God and experience His transforming love ❤️

The project has created a new path linking the Recreation Ground and the churchyard as well as peaceful seating areas 🪑🪑 a wildflower meadow 🌺🌼🪻🌷and a wildlife haven 🐝🦋🐞🐦‍⬛🪲 - helping us share this special place more fully with the whole community while continuing to honour those remembered here.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this vision to life through their generosity, work, encouragement and prayers.

We are also very grateful to Squires Garden Centre, Thames Ditton for generously providing the gorgeous hydrangeas and to the schoolchildren in the choir who sang so beautifully 🎶🎵

We're looking forward to celebrating new pathways at a Thanksgiving Service on

Sunday, 10th May at 10.30am

following the completion of our Way Maker project.

The Bishop of Dorking will be joining us, and we’ll open the new gateway between the Churchyard and Recreation Ground and enjoy refreshments together afterwards 🥂🍾

In the stillness of the morning, with birdsong 🐦‍⬛🎵🎶 all around, we’ll share a joyful time of hope and resurrection together.

Join us this Good Friday as we gather to reflect on the cross ✝️ and all it means for us.

Our 10.45am All Age Service follows the Walk of Witness through the village and is a chance to come together in worship, with tea, coffee ☕and hot cross buns afterwards.

At 2pm, our Reflective Service offers a quieter space, using Bible readings, music 🎵and silence to help us connect more deeply with the events of Good Friday.

We were delighted to welcome representatives from our mission partners The Besom in Esher to our 9.30am service on Sunday and to hear more about their fantastic work in our local community.

The Besom helps connect those who want to give - whether time, money, skills or practical items - with those who are in need, offering real, tangible support where it’s needed most. Annie shared with us some simple and practical ways people can get involved.

It was inspiring to hear how even small acts of generosity can be truly transformative behind the scenes. If you’d like to find out more or explore how you could be involved, do get in touch with The Besom - we’d really encourage you to connect with them!

Join us this Good Friday for our Walk of Witness.

As we walk together behind the cross we remember Jesus’ journey to the crucifixion. It’s a time to reflect on his sacrifice and look ahead with hope as we celebrate his resurrection on Easter Sunday.

We’ll meet at Claygate Railway Station car park at 10:00am and finish at Holy Trinity Church, where we will gather for a Worship for All service at 10:45am, followed by tea, coffee and hot cross buns.

All are welcome - come and walk with us.

It is our privilege to be one of the churches livestreaming this service on Monday as we give thanks for the life of Bishop Andrew. All are very welcome to join us, and we continue to hold his family and loved ones in our prayers at this time.

On Monday 23 March at 12 noon we will join across the diocese and beyond to honour and give thanks for the life of the late Rt Revd Andrew Watson, Bishop of Guildford.

The funeral service will be livestreamed, and all are warmly invited to join online:
