He Has Done All Things Well

Today with Oscar, we reflected on Mark 7:31-37 and the healing of a man who could neither hear nor speak.

What stands out is not just the miracle itself, but the way Jesus performed it.

Before healing him, Jesus took the man aside from the crowd. He didn’t make a spectacle of him. He saw a real person with real struggles, fears, and limitations. Jesus met him where he was and communicated with him in a way he could understand.

What a comfort that is for us.

We are not just faces in a crowd to Jesus. He knows our wounds, our fears, our disappointments, and even the prayers we struggle to put into words. He sees the broken places in our lives that no one else sees.

The people of that day had no cure for this man’s condition, but Jesus did. The One who was present at creation had the power to restore what was broken. And when He healed the man, He did more than improve his circumstances. He changed his life.

The same Jesus still meets people today. He brings hope to the hopeless, life to those dead in sin, and beauty into the chaos of a broken world. He is still making all things new.

The crowd’s response was simple: β€œHe has done all things well.”

Even when we don’t understand what God is doing, we can trust His heart. He knows us personally, loves us deeply, and calls us to respond to Him in faith.

Today with Oscar we reflected on Mark 7:24-30 and the gentile woman who came to Jesus carrying the pain and desperation of her daughter’s suffering.

She had no status, no entitlement, and no reason to expect anything. But she had heard about Jesus, and she believed He could change everything.

Despite the barriers that existed between Jews and gentiles, Jesus met her where she was. While others would have avoided her, Jesus listened, spoke with her, and responded with compassion and power.

What a beautiful reminder that no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace.

The woman’s faith was humble and persistent. She did not demand anything from Jesus. She simply trusted Him, even when the answer did not come immediately.

And perhaps that challenges us too.

So often we wait for people to come through the church doors, but Jesus shows us a different way. He stepped into uncomfortable places, met people where they were, and brought hope to those who felt forgotten.

As followers of Jesus, we are called to do the same.

There is room at God’s table for all of us.
No past too broken.
No life too far gone.
No person beyond His love, mercy, and salvation.
