The Feast of Weeks - Shavuot - Pentecost: Acts 2. The Power of the Holy Spirit.

Please join Pastor Stephen Clayden in this teaching on Shavuot, the Feast of Weeks. We begin by explaining the historical background of the seven holy feasts handed down to Israel by God. The Feast of Weeks takes place at the time of the spring harvest, which is why the book of Ruth is typically read at Shavuot. The giving of the law at Mount Sinai is remembered at this time. However, it's ultimate Messianic fulfilment comes in Acts ch.2 on the day of Pentecost. The giving of the Holy Spirit is what empowered the early church to preach the Gospel. We must be exactly the same.

We are all capable of getting so caught up in the work of the LORD that we forget the LORD of the work. Let's not "leave our first love" (Revelation 2:4) the Lord Jesus Christ. Remember to spend time in prayer and read His word.

All these pieces of armour have spiritual meanings, and if we are to wage war against the forces of darkness, then we must know what these pieces of spiritual armour mean, and how to use them.
