John Goddard: Panic or Prayer: Where does your trust lie? (2 Kings 19, 2026-08-30)

Where does your trust lie when crisis hits? Do you respond with panic or prayer, fear or faith?

This Sunday, we explored the story of King Hezekiah, who faced an overwhelming enemy in Sennacherib and chose to spread his troubles before God rather than collapse under them. Like Hezekiah, we are each responsible for our own choices, regardless of the circumstances we were handed.

God still speaks. He still acts. And as Isaiah reminded a frightened king, His first word into our fear is still the same: "Do not be afraid." The Lord reigns over every broken headline, every sleepless night, every letter you would spread before Him.

As one pastor put it, "When His voice becomes the loudest voice in your life, fear begins to loosen its grip, faith begins to rise, hope begins to sing." Where does your trust lie this morning?
