We have today received the very sad news of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Throughout her 70 years of service to our nation and the Commonwealth, The Queen has continually prioritised the needs of those whom she has served above her own. In doing so she has modelled the faith she held so close to her heart; a faith rooted in the teachings of Jesus Christ. Indeed, Her Majesty’s faith was an example to all faithful people.
The Queen’s leadership of the Church of England, our nation, and the Commonwealth has inspired generations, and will continue to inspire generations as they learn of her long reign.
In the Apedale Benefice, usual Sunday services will be cancelled.
Tomorrow, the 9th September, there will be a reflective service, at Hope Bowdler Church, at 6 pm
On Sunday, 11th September, there will be a service of Holy Communion in remembrance of Her Majesty, for the whole benefice, at Cardington Church at 10 am.
All Churches will remain open for private prayer and reflection, as we come to terms with this sad news.
We pray for The King, Queen Consort, the Royal Family, the Nation, and the Commonwealth.
