Following confirmation that the new Shawwal moon has NOT been sighted, we can confirm that we have been blessed to complete the full 30 days of Ramadan.

Eid is therefore confirmed Friday 20th March.

The following Eid prayers have been planned in Chorley insha’Allah

Dawatul Islam Masjid (Charnock St) - 8:30
Masjid Ibrahim (Park Rd) - 9:15

- Where possible, practice in the Sunnah of our Prophet pbuh and walk to the Masjid
- Maximise parking in our own car park by filling from the back and using all available space (double parking)
- If you need to leave early park along Townley Street (avoid Brooke St and Charnock St)
- ⁠As Eid falls on a weekday, please make sure not to cause congestion for our neighbours and other road users.

The first three takbeers between Subhanakallah-humma and Surah Fatiha in the first rakat and the remaining three just before going into Ruku on the second rakat. Hands are raised each time and brought down to our side in between.

*A reminder also to settle your Sadaka Fitr as soon as possible* so it may reach its intended recipients before the Eid prayer.

**Alhamdulillah!** The moon has been sighted and **Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow — Sunday, 30th March 2025 — after 29 blessed days of Ramadan.**

Walking to Eid prayer is a beautiful Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).
It brings spiritual reward and helps ease traffic for everyone.

**Why walk?**
1. **It’s the Sunnah:**
_“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to go out to the Eid prayer walking and return walking.”_ – Ibn Majah 1295 (Sahih)

2. **Take a different route back:**
_“The Prophet (ﷺ) would go one way and return another.”_ – Bukhari 986

3. **Every step counts:**
