This is a public page where some of the outcomes of the BadFaithed mini symposia and conferences are brought into the Facebook auditorium - as well as having a space on the web at www.badfaithed.org.
Today we are publishing a piece on Spousal abuse in the clergy household covered in the Church of England Newspaper which deserves wide sharing.
We shall also be hosting some interviews on these pages with those working to address and redress the abuses which have occurred unaddressed in a number of ways across our churches particularly in this arena of domestic abuse, coercive control, and emotional and fiscal intimidation.
We are open to contributions from a all faith traditions, realising that the ways in which faith organisations are able to slip under the controls of the Equalities Act, and other forms of protection which apply to most arenas of secular life, at least in the UK, are multiple. It is most regrettable that faith communities have been given a 'pass' on areas which need to be strengthened by all means, to uphold dignity, protection and safety for all of God's children, no matter what gender, age, ability, sexuality, ethnicity.
Having an international vision we shall also be welcoming guest posts from other organisations and pioneer advocates seeking to make a difference in this challenging, somewhat niche, but nevertheless highly relevant area where a light needs to be shone on abuse, hiding behind professional faith doors.
