We have exciting news here at St Leonard. At the PPC meeting last night it was announced the we have a new vicar. Not quite white smoke from the Vatican but exciting enough for us. We have been in a period of interregnum (between priests in charge) for the last two and half years. During this time we have been having visiting priest taking our services, which has a pleasant charm all in itself. We would like to thank those clergy who have been assisting us, it’s has been greatly appreciated. We are pleased to welcome Rev Esther (Rachma) Abbott who has been appointed by the Diocese of Derby. There will be a licensing service at Ault Hucknall Church at 3p.m. On Saturday the 7th of March, all are welcome.

Last week we spent a pleasant hour during the afternoon with our diocesan lead Bishop Libby during her tour of the deanery. As you would expect she led a short prayer tour around the church, but the main topic of conversation was what a great place Scarcliffe is to live. Sometimes you just have to stand still and look at the blessing around you.
