This year, Rosh Hashanah starts today (11 September) and ends on Sunday (13 September).

This Jewish holiday celebrates the completion of another year, and the beginnings of a new year. It is also the time for rejoicing and reflecting.

We would like to wish our colleagues, friends, partners, communities and those in our care, peace, harmony, happiness and good health, for a blessed Rosh Hashanah.

Rosh Hashanah runs from September 11-13 and celebrates the Jewish new year. We wish our colleagues, friends, partners and those in our care good health, happiness, peace and prosperity, today and throughout the year. Happy Rosh Hashanah – Shanah tovah!

Tomorrow evening, Rosh Hashanah begins - the Jewish New Year! 🍎🍯

It starts at nightfall on Friday, as every Jewish day does, and runs for two days. Families gather for festive meals, synagogues fill, and a ram's horn called the shofar is sounded - a raw, ancient wake-up call for the soul. Apples are dipped in honey for a sweet year, and round challah bread stands for the circle of the year.

This year it falls on Shabbat, so Friday evening brings both at once. It opens ten days of reflection that end with Yom Kippur. If you know someone Jewish, "Shana Tova" (a good year) is always welcome - tomorrow, or any day this week.

🎬 On this day in 1966: Adam Sandler was born

Beyond the goofy comedies, Sandler gave Jewish kids a quiet gift: 'The Hanukkah Song,' a cheerful roll-call of famous Jews, written so that children who felt outnumbered at Christmas would know they were 'not alone.' He still updates it to this day. And when he chooses a serious role, critics are reminded there's a real actor beneath the silliness.
