"Being inclusive is not just something we do, but who we are. It’s understanding that this space belongs to everyone...."

For many years, the Wesley Church Centre in the heart of Chester has been committed to opening its doors to the city and blessed by the active participation of several LGBT+ members. Their work goes beyond 'ticking boxes' to meet a deep hunger for a genuinely safe sacred space.

This LGBT+ History Month, discover stories of welcome within the LGBT community, stories of those who have found their spiritual home and those churches who are offering the invitation that all are welcome in this place.

You're invited to a screening of the documentary film 'Family Album' as part of the International Film Marathon, Culture vs War. It's dedicated to the fourth anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
'Family Album' is a powerful documentary that connect the tragedy of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 with the ongoing war against Ukraine. Through a personal famiy story the film draws painful yet essential parallels between the crimes of the past and the present, revealing the continuity of the genocide of Ukrainians and the enduring strength of memory.

Last night was our Carol Service at Wesley, and what a fantastic evening it was! From Carols on the ramp as people arrived, through to a finale of 'O come, all ye faithful' that absolutely raised the roof - the evening was filled with joy and a deep sense of fellowship. Many thanks to everyone who contributed and to all who attended 🙏🏻 And thanks especially to Neil Stacey and Kieran Bohan for their leading. You all made it an incredibly special night.

A Prayer in response to the attack at Bondi Beach 🙏

Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the universe, who grants us light, sustains us in life and guides us in the ways of holiness.

On a day when peaceful celebration has been distorted through acts of violence and hatred, we pray for those who have died and been injured in the attack at Bondi beach at the beginning of Hanukkah.

Comfort those who have lost loved ones. Strengthen them and grant them peace.
Stand close to those who seek answers and with those tasked with understanding and responding to these acts of violence.

May the deep darkness of this day be met by responses of respect, compassion and solidarity as we continue to draw alongside our sisters and brothers of Jewish faith in our prayers.

We pray for an ending to all acts of religious or racially based hatred that we may dwell in your light and seek a world in which all may walk safely alongside their neighbour.
Amen.
