The theme of this year’s Refugee Week is courage. This year you can find special artwork from Quentin Blake reflecting the topic of courage, some of which can be seen in the video. Hear from Canon Anthony as he discusses why this theme is so important.

There are still a few days left to see the Refugee Week exhibition open from 11am - 2pm until Saturday 20 June.

As part of Refugee Week, Canon Anthony will be taking part in a Q&A following the screening of The Old Oak at Storehouse on Wednesday 17 June at 6pm. Director Ken Loach teams up with regular writing partner Paul Laverty and producer Rebecca O’Brien to deliver a compassionate tale of community and belonging.

Today is the first day of Refugee Week 2026. Join us for an exciting Creative Workshop with Artist in Residence Kirushan Sivagnanam, Tuesday 16 June at 11am exploring stories, identity, belonging, and community.

Tuesday also marks the opening of the Refugee Week exhibition 'Villages from around the world' which is open Tuesday 16 - Saturday 20 June from 11am-2pm daily.

Both events are taking place in 30 St Werburgh Street. No booking necessary, just turn up!

Only two weeks left to see Threads at Chester Cathedral. Hear from the exhibition artist as she explains the last panel in Threads through the cross. The exhibition consists of 44 panels made up of 25 million stitches! You won’t want to miss it.
