Another lovely morning taking Open the Book into West Rainton. Today's story was of Jesus appearing to the disciples when they had gone fishing after his death. Jesus helped Peter to overcome his regret of having denied Jesus three times.

A lovely day today at the MU Indoor Members Service at Durham Cathedral. Rev Norma officiated at the service and at the end candles were lit for all the Deaneries in the Diocese and placed in St Cuthbert's Chapel. A very moving experience. We were glad to represent our Great Lumley MU branch

Just a reminder that our Knit and Natter group meet on alternate Wednesdays in church at 1 30pm. We are knitting hats, scarfs and gloves for the Mission to Seafarers. You can knit, sew for yourself or the charity. All welcome, lots of natter and a good cuppa as well!! The next meeting is the 29th April.

Thank you to everyone who supported our coffee morning on Saturday. It raised £330. Thank you to the ladies who did all the baking providing such delicious cakes and savouries.
