RIP John ‘Johnny’ Stoves 💙

On Thursday 21st May 2026, Johnny passed peacefully at Queen Elizabeth Hospital aged 84.

A devoted father to Heather and Beverley, a dearly loved grandad to Jay and Taylor, an adored father in law to Gavin and Andrew, a treasured brother and a cherished friend to many. He will be greatly missed.

Johnny’s funeral will take place on Friday 5th June 2026 at 12pm at Birtley Crematorium.

Family flowers only please. Anyone wishing to make a charitable donation in lieu of flowers; these are to be made to either The Sir Bobby Robinson Cancer Trial Unit or The Greyhound Trust. There will be a donation box on the day of the funeral for any cash donations.

Your loved one WILL NOT be resting in some warehouse half way down the country, instead they will rest in our funeral home until the day they are laid to rest.

Your loved one WILL NOT be transported hundred of miles away for their cremation, instead they will be cremated at a local crematorium.

As a family-run, independent funeral service, we have you and your loved one’s best interests at heart. We promise a respectful, dignified cremation with the personal touch that only a local, caring funeral home can offer.
