St Peter's Church, Chertsey

St Peter's Church, Chertsey Welcome to St Peter's Chertsey, a growing community of people united in our love and passion for God. You will receive a warm welcome at St. Peter's. Step inside!

We are a growing family of Christians of all ages and backgrounds, united in our love of God, our commitment to each other, and our desire to serve the wider community. We are all at various stages in our journey of faith in Jesus Christ. Our worship ranges from the informal and contemporary to the more traditional, taking place on Sundays and mid week. Our work with children and families is thriving, as is our ministry to older people.

The summer holidays are nearly over and lots of children and young people are preparing to go back to school next week, to new classes or even new schools. This Sunday at 10.30am we will pray God's blessing on them all, so please bring a book bag, lunch bag, back pack or pencil case to be blessed! 🙏

Bishop Andrew's last book is available now

Completed in the weeks following his terminal cancer diagnosis, "Maundy: Leadership and identity in life and death" is Bishop Andrew's final gift to the Church.

This deeply personal and profound collection includes a foreword by the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, and an introduction from Bishop Andrew himself, in which he reflects on how writing the book helped focus his mind on "some of the key attributes of what it means to be a Christian disciple and minister through testing times."

Drawing on a lifetime of ministry, and written while facing his own mortality with faith and hope, the book offers a thoughtful exploration of leadership, identity and discipleship.

Bishop Paul has described it as:

"A truly precious gift to all who knew and loved him, as well as to all who serve in ordained ministry, and all who are interested in knowing what ‘cheerfully persisting towards a good death’ in the faith and hope of Jesus looks like."

As we continue to give thanks for Bishop Andrew's life and ministry, we commend this final work to all seeking wisdom, encouragement and hope.

You can find out more and buy the book from local Christian bookshops or online: https://www.brfresources.org.uk/products/maundy-leadership-and-identity-in-life-and-death
