St James Church, Cherhill

St James Church, Cherhill We are a friendly local parish church, equally at ease with formal services or the chaos of lots of children.

Services vary in style, so do check the rota if you are looking for something specific.

Daniel will be cycling from Malmesbury back to Cherhill on Saturday 15th September to raise money for Wiltshire Historic Churches Trust and in particular St James'.

If you wanted to support him that would be great. You can let me know or donate at https://www.justgiving.com/page/matt-earwicker-1725552265849?utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=page%2Fmatt-earwicker-1725552265849&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=pfp-share.

His older brothers and I will be joining him, so the other reason for this message is to ask if anyone has a (cheap, hybrid) bike they can lend me. I think it would be unfair to use my electric bike, and in any case it would run out of power before the end!

Help Matt Earwicker raise money to support Wiltshire Ride and Stride

Hi everyone
This Sunday (11.15) we have another christening, so there will be a few extra cars in the village for about an hour. Could I therefore ask you to make sure the church car park is clear, that way the guests will hopefully not block The Street too much.
Thanks
Matt

It was great to have the school and family members back in our church today. Well done to everyone - you read and sang so well. The displays will remain up over the Easter holidays for anyone to look at - the church is open during the day. Here's a taster.

A huge thanks to Oliver and Belinda for hosting our Remembrance service this morning, to Joachim for the Last Post, to Maggie, Shauna and others for refreshments, but most of all to the fantastic Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from the 1st Cherhill Scout Troop for behaving exceptionally through a long service with no chance to sit. You are a credit to yourselves, your families, and our community. Well done all of you.

Please see the linked notice about this Sunday’s remembrance service.

Thank you so much to Cherhill Scout Group for the fantastic work the cubs did last night tidying the churchyard. In the face of heavy rain and it being almost pitch black by the end, you have done a sterling job. Well done, everyone!
