🌹 **The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary – 15 August**

Today the Church celebrates the joyful feast of the **Assumption of Our Lady**.

Mary's Assumption reminds us that heaven is our true home and that God's promise of eternal life is real. Her whole life pointed towards Jesus, and she continues to lead us to Him today.

As we celebrate this beautiful feast, let us place our families, our parish and all those in need into Mary's loving care.

🙏 **Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us and help us always to follow your Son with faithful hearts.**

✨ **Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord – 6 August**

Today the Church celebrates the Transfiguration, when Peter, James and John witnessed the glory of Christ on the mountain.

In that moment, God the Father spoke these simple but powerful words:

*"This is my beloved Son. Listen to Him."* (Matthew 17:5)

In the busyness of everyday life, those words are just as important for us today. God invites us to pause, to pray and to listen for Christ's voice in our hearts.

May the light of the Transfigured Lord shine upon you and your loved ones, bringing hope, peace and joy.

🙏 **Lord Jesus, help us to recognise Your presence in our lives and to follow You with faithful hearts.**

World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly

Pope Francis established the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly to remind us that older people are not simply part of our past—they are a precious gift to our present and future. Their faith, wisdom, experience and love enrich our families and our parish community.

This week, perhaps we can make time to visit an elderly neighbour, phone a grandparent or someone who lives alone, or simply offer a prayer for those who may be feeling lonely. Small acts of kindness can bring great hope.

Let us pray that every older person may know they are loved, valued and never forgotten.

❤️ **Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne – 26th July**

Today we celebrate the grandparents of Jesus and give thanks for all grandparents and older members of our families and parish.

Their love, wisdom and prayers help pass on the gift of faith from one generation to the next.

May God bless all grandparents with health, peace and joy, and may Saints Joachim and Anne continue to pray for our families.
