Our midweek service yesterday- a shorter service on the second Wednesday of each month, with refreshments afterwards. It’s a lovely chance to worship together and enjoy each other’s company. Joey was on hand for cuddles!

Have you ever wondered what the imagery in our logo means?
It’s not just decoration – it tells the story of Saint Stephen: a story of courage, faith, and hope.
Saint Stephen was the Church’s very first martyr (the first person to die for his faith in Jesus), and the symbols around him help us remember that story.

🔴 The red background points to his martyrdom – the giving of his life in faith.
🌿 The palm branches are a traditional Christian symbol of victory – especially the victory of faith, and are often shown with martyrs.
🪨 The stones remind us how Stephen died – he was stoned to death, as told in the Acts of the Apostles.
👑 The crown is a symbol of honour and glory – often linked to the “crown of life” promised to those who remain faithful.

St Stephen’s Church is open every day – why not call in for a quiet moment of prayer or reflection, and take a look at the banner hanging in the chancel?
