All creatures, great and small, are welcome (with a well-behaved owner!) at our Pet Service on Sunday 4th October. And those who wish to attend without a pet are very welcome too; there will be seating for our human worshippers, as well as an area for smaller animals.
Please do bring your pets along for a joyous and uplifting service. There will be refreshments served after the service, both for humans and for pets.

On Friday 4th September Dr Nick Maynard is coming to Cheltenham to speak about his experiences working on the frontline in Gaza’s hospitals. Professor Nick Maynard is a leading upper gastrointestinal surgeon at Oxford University Hospitals and an associate professor at the University of Oxford. He is widely recognised for his specialised cancer and laparoscopic surgery, as well as his extensive humanitarian medical work in Gaza.

Nick has first-hand experience of working alongside heroic Palestinian doctors and surgeons to save lives in unimaginable conditions under Israeli bombardment. The word hero is sometimes overused in modern society but Professor Maynard is a humble and heroic man doing remarkable things. He gives credit to the Palestinian people who go on living in hellish circumstances, "The most heroic, inspirational people I've ever met"

His talk will take place at Highbury Congregational Church, Oxford St, Cheltenham GL52 6DT at 7pm.Entry is free but you are asked to register so that numbers can be predicted. You can either scan the QR code or email [email protected]

Refreshments will be served and there will be a collection for Medical Aid for Palestinians.

On Sunday 26th July we celebrated the re-dedication of our Memorial Chapel, following completion of the restoration works. It was a wonderfully joyful celebration, with a beautiful service conducted by Rev Catherine Milsom. We asked for cake and you did not disappoint! There was a mountain of delicious home baking to share after the service. It was lovely to see so many of you joining us, to say goodbye to Rev Catherine as she is moving on to her next Curacy placement. We wish her many blessings in the next stage of her calling.

So lovely to be back at St Stephen’s for midweek communion—and wonderful to gather in the beautifully refurbished chapel!

We reflected on God’s presence with us through change and new beginnings. Christ is here whenever even two or three gather in his name—and there is so much life, love and possibility still to discover together.

After our joyful re-dedication of the memorial chapel two weeks ago, we are back at Church tomorrow (9th) with Reverend Jeffery Gunn kindly presiding at 10am Communion. Reverend Ruth is now back from Maternity leave and she will be leading Said Communion on Wednesday 12th August in the Memorial Chapel: we hope to see at one or both of these services. The drainage work on the south side of the Church is now complete and the area has been made good.

Can we also ask you to think of our wildlife during this dry period, by putting bowls of water out, wherever you can. Thank you!
