Among the music for this Sunday's Service will be a song that became both an LGBTQ+ anthem in America and a general protest song for Unitarians. We first connected with the singer during Covid, making it especially meaningful for our community.

You can listen to it here ahead of Sunday by clicking on the image below.

When the world feels uncertain, with big changes that feel out of our control, we can take comfort from these Worship Words from Rev Laura Dobson - a version of the Serenity Prayer.

As we travel the paths that our lives reveal to us,
We are often not sure of the way, the distance, or the destination.
Nevertheless, we have each other.
We can look to one another for wisdom,
We can be grateful for each other’s companionship,
And we can seek support when we have lost hope.
We light our chalice this morning to signify that we are willing to take the journey together

"Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness." "We must accept finite disappointment but never lose infinite hope." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Rev’d Wyn Thomas will be returning to lead our service this Sunday.
This week's theme will follow on from Saturday night’s Craftivism Social:"To live with hope is to bear light"

Hope you see you this Sunday at 11am - Bayshill Church

Sunday Service with Alison Thursfield

In March, we reflected on how we draw wisdom and guidance from religious texts. This Sunday, we’ll continue that journey by exploring the teachings we encounter beyond traditional religious sources - looking at how insights from non-religious texts can shape our values.

We hope to see you there!

Enjoy the beautiful words of Rev Celia Cartwright's This Day Is Warm.

This day is warm
The air is still
Gone is the threat
Of thunder
And rain.

This day requires
A slowing down
A letting go
Of musts and
Shoulds and
Oughts.

This day
Is a day
Simply
To Be.

Today is a day
To open doors
To open windows
To welcome in
The wide blue sky
And golden sun
And be.

This is time
To recline
To ponder the
Grand questions
Of life
And love
And sip
On something
Cool.
Words like
Languid
Were made
For days
Like this.

Too soon
The summer’s
Glory will be gone.
Don’t waste it.
