Looking for a friendly place to meet people, enjoy a chat and a free cup of coffee?

Join us every Wednesday from 1 July, between 10am and 12 noon, at the Church of the Ascension, Maltese Road. Free coffee, cakes and biscuits, and a warm welcome for everyone.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that took place in Central Park yesterday evening, which resulted in the death of a young man.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of the person who has died, and with all those who have been affected by this heartbreaking incident. We also remember in our prayers the emergency services, healthcare professionals, and others who have responded with care and dedication in difficult circumstances.

As a church, we pray for God's comfort to surround all who grieve, for peace in the midst of sorrow, and for strength for our community in the days ahead. The Cathedral is open to anyone seeking prayer, support, or a quiet place for reflection.

"The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves the crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18)
