God of mercy and compassion,
We give thanks for the continued presence of your Church
in its many different forms, expressions and traditions,
at the heart of local communities,
close to home, and all around the world.
May that presence be a source of hope, support and encouragement
in times of suffering and uncertainty,
offering welcome, hospitality and the joy of connection and belonging
to those who need it most.
Strengthen our commitment to the work of Christian unity so that together we can better serve a wounded world,
in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Reminder that tomorrow 23rd August there will be a joint service at Trinity Methodist Church at 10.30 am led by our minister, Asif Karam. There will be no service at MLMC.

Today was the last session of Friendship Club before the summer break. As we usually do we had a strawberry tea. They did enjoy it even though the photos look as if they were reluctant to eat the scones and cakes it was only that I'd asked them to wait until I'd taken some pictures.

Lovely tea party this afternoon to celebrate the 80th birthdays of all those who were born in 1946.

On Tuesday, we held our joint GB/BB Award evening. It was fantastic to celebrate all the members’ achievements alongside the enormous number of parents and families who came along to support. As is normal for us, the award evening fell, once again, on one of the hottest days of the year 🥵 🤦🏻‍♀️

The younger groups have finished for the summer but if you know of a young person (aged 5-18) who you think would enjoy joining us in September, feel free to contact us through facebook, our website or via the “find a group” pages on the national Boys’ Brigade or Girls’ Brigade websites.

Joint songs of praise service this morning celebrating Music Sunday. Lucy led the worship, Clive preached and musicians from both churches led the singing.
