God of the new shoes and the lost water bottles.
Go with the first-timers, the last-timers,
and the ones who have already lost their timetable.

Go with the teachers resetting tables and the parents who feel it more than the kids.

May the playground be wider than the cliques.
May the lessons be kinder than the curriculum.
May there be friends who feel like home by half term.

🎨 Harvest Craft & Activity Day
Saturday 12 September
Drop in between 2-4pm
Come along for crafts, games, and autumn treats - fun for all ages! No need to book, just turn up.

🍞 Harvest Service & Lunch
Sunday 13 September
Service at 10.30am, followed by a harvest lunch
Everyone welcome - stay after the service and share a meal with us.

Seven Christ Church folk went to the Greenbelt festival, there was music and mud and worship and more mud and talks and mud.

Today we pray for and with all those affected by the tragedy at Big Church Festival, all those struggling in the rain and mud at Greenbelt Festival, and all those impacted by climate change around the world. 🌎

God of the rain and the sodden ground,

For everyone waking to water where a bed should be, to canvas that leaks and belongings that rot - hold them.

For those who have lost more than possessions, whose grief is as raw as the wind - hold them.

For every community scraping mud from homes while the headlines move on. For every island watching the sea rise, every farmer whose land is dust one season and lake the next. For every creature displaced by our harm.

Where we have made this worse, give us courage to face it. Where we can make it better, give us the will. Where all we can do is sit with the damp and the grief, give us each other.

Amen.
