A glorious display for fruit and flowers to celebrate Harvest Festival last weekend.

It has been another extraordinarily difficult year for our farmers; we pray that there are better conditions ahead.

Checkendon's poppy project is meeting again.

This Saturday 18th July, 10.30-12 noon. Coffee, cake and chat in Checkendon church. If you’d like to join in, it’s never too late!

Bring your knitting 🧶 your poppies or just come along to find out more. We’ll have another count up of the poppies to see how we’re progressing too!

We look forward to seeing you there.

It's cooler in Church 😎

The Church is open every day, so come and take sanctuary from the heat for a quiet few minutes.

📢 Poppy knitting update 📢

Hello All Checkendon Poppy Knitters 👋

We’re having a coffee morning catch up on Saturday 16th May 10.30-12 noon in Checkendon church.

Open to everyone already knitting or not yet started. Bring your knitting (or not) and join us for a good chat.

We look forward to seeing you all and meeting some new faces. 🧶🧶🧶

Remembrance preparations are already underway at St Peter and St Paul, Checkendon where some of our congregation have started knitting and crocheting poppies for a display in Church. By November we hope to have enough for a stunning memorial.

Comment below if you would like to join our next gathering (there will be cake!) or for pattern suggestions - every poppy is welcome 😊

Thank you to everyone who come to help get the church and churchyard clean and tidy for the summer. We had a great turnout, with helpers from age 9 to over 90, showing that many hands make light work.

The village community and visitors often remark on our well-kept Church, and events like these are crucial to keep on top of things. Thank you all!

Christmas flowers

28/12/2025

It was fantastic to welcome so many people to our services over Christmas. From the wonderful Carol Service (see photo) via a packed-out Christingle to the serenity of Christmas morning, we celebrated and gave meaning to the Christmas season.

Thank you for being part of it, and for supporting our church and community.
