Alton Christian Spiritualist Church

Alton Christian Spiritualist Church We believe in God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God is in and around all things, there is no part of anything, anywhere that is not of God.

Our teachings are taken not only from the Bible but from the Messages of Zodiac, the Spirit Guide of a most sensitive and devoted medium Winifred Moyes.Through Winifred Zodiac tells us he was a teacher and scribe in the temple at Jerusalem, at the time of Christ. Alton Christian Spiritualist Church combines spiritualism with christianity delivering the reassurance that resurection is the great gif

t from the Creator to all life: death is both an ending and a beginning. Unlike many Spiritualist Churches, the Bible is read every week as is a reading from the New Revelation, The Zodiac Messages. Miss Winnifred Moyes was a medium of the highest calibre and through her dedicated mediumship these instructions/teachings were given over a period of thirty plus years. Mediumship is as old as time: there is no function without it as it manifests through all creation. Sixty years ago Mrs Olive Pybus founded the church and dedicated herself to upholding it's truths. She was a remarkable woman who had to fight many battles with much prejudice from the established church and other sources. She did not fail through all the years to keep our church alive. The church engages in charitable giving, currently the Smile Train, the Red Cross and the British Legion. Other organisations local , national and international have received practical and monetary gifts for many years. Our membership continues to grow and all our members are renowned for their support, generosity and kindness in supporting all that we do. Rob Harvey - President/Secretary

Healing:

Alton Christian Spiritualist Church greatly values its healing ministry considering it fundamental in its service to God and humanity. All church healers are required to approach their work in a spirit of reverence, prayer, loving kindness and dedication. A period of training is given, ranging from six months to one year; this allows time for an assessment of the aspiring healer and measure taken of the essential dedication and attunement to the unseen workers from heavenly realms who strive so devotedly for us and without whom no spiritual healing can take place. Alton Christian Spiritualist Church is extremely mindful of the respect and care with which their healers must approach this work. The Church practises the laying on of hands for healing, always honouring our leader, Jesus Christ and attempts to carry out His injunction to heal the sick and comfort all who seek our aid. Healing is offered every Sunday after the church service; all are welcome to come and experience the gentle touch of a practised and devoted healer. Such good work has been done over the years and many have benefited. Church Services commence every Sunday at 6.30 pm and healing starts at 8pm. If you are unable to attend the church service you are welcome to come for healing only at 8pm. CHURCH HEALERS

The cuckoo, known for its famous two-note call, arrives in the UK from Africa around April. The female cuckoo lays her eggs in another bird's nest, often first spooking the host bird away. She then leaves the unsuspecting foster parents to incubate the eggs, feed the chicks, and raise the fledglings! What a strategy that helps conserve the cuckoo's energy and resources. This behaviour is known as brood parasitism.
Quite a trickster, and perhaps seemingly unfair, the cuckoo demonstrates just how it has evolved and the lengths it will go to help its young survive. They are also known for having multiple partners during a breeding season to increase the chances of reproduction and survival. Other birds also engage in brood parasitism, but the cuckoo is by far the most famous.
That cute little bird appearing each hour on our cuckoo clocks is far more devious than we might imagine, yet also highly intelligent and practical.
While the word "cuckoo" can mean, in some contexts, foolishness, its symbolism is often associated with transformation, intuition, and adaptability.
Last night in Chawton, we hosted our beautiful Healing Service. It was an evening filled with wonderful energy, readings, prayers, and, of course, healing. Healing was administered during the service, and I trust everyone enjoyed a sound sleep afterwards.
Thank you to Rob for leading us and to our readers. Thank you also to the hospitality team, to Julie for the music, and to our diligent healers. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful Healing Team. So much thanks should go to all those who set up and broke down the evening also.
