Castle Cary Methodist Church Our purpose 'to worship God and to make His love known'. Join us at 10.30 on Sundays for worship and sunday school. Evening services also happen twice a month.

We are a Christian church and part of a group of churches known as the Somerset Mendip Circuit. We aim to welcome people of any age at whatever stage in their journey of Christian faith. We have been growing steadily in recent years but have plenty of room for you. Typically around fifty of us meet regularly for worship on Sunday mornings. We have a wide representation of age groups with a strong Junior Church for the under 11’s , a youth fellowship for the 11-18s and home groups for anyone who wants to join. Our worship varies from a traditional Methodist to a more informal, contemporary style. Praise and healing services have become a valuable part of the life of the church too. We are committed to ensuring that you receive a warm, friendly welcome. As followers of Christ we do this by:

•Providing opportunities for all to discover Christ as Lord and Saviour.

•Welcoming everyone and allowing them to discover, develop and use their gifts and abilities, and enabling them to live as His followers in the community.

•Showing through worship, prayer, teaching and love for all that God is entirely relevant today.

•Supporting prayerfully, practically, emotionally and financially local, national and international needs in line with the teachings of Christ.

This morning our youngest members created their own wonderful creatures. As part of our Eco Church project, we thought about God’s creation and our role to look after it, made some recycled paper pots and planted wildflower seeds which we’ll put out in the church garden to welcome bugs and bees and birds.

Happy 240th Birthday Rode Chapel
October 4th is a day of celebration for Rode Chapel, acknowledging 240 years of Christian Worship in the heart of our village.
Please join us from 2pm to see floral displays, a history board and photo montage. Tea and biscuits will be available accompanied by music from a 240 year old harpsichord!
At 6pm we have our normal 45 minute Meeting Place service where we will celebrate with song followed by birthday cake.

And we have arrived at our final destination - Glastonbury Methodist Church. A day of gorgeous sunshine has been our accompaniment to today’s leg. Thank you so much to all our supporters over the last 2 days and especially to David Thomson from All We Can who has joined us over the last 2 days! We will give thanks for this pilgrimage in a circuit service at 4pm.
