DIOCESAN EVENT ON OUR JOURNEYING TOGETHER
Saturday 9th 2026 at The Pastoral Centre St Mary’s Forebank Hall Starting at 10.00am.
Please come and listen to the well-known writer, papal biographer and Tablet correspondent Austen Ivereigh, as he presents live online the topic “Missionary disciples in a synodal Church: the future of faith in these Islands”.
How does the Church thrive in an age where it is no longer supported by culture? Pope Francis and now Pope Leo have called us to embrace an “apostolic” way of being Christian, capable of evangelizing our age of belief.
We invite you most warmly to come and share this event as we become a more listening and welcoming Church.

A national gathering. A moment of renewal. A day led by the Spirit.
Join others from across Scotland at Glasgow Caledonian University on Saturday, 6th June, for a powerful and hope-filled Festival of Synodality.
This is more than a conference. It is an opportunity to experience Conversation in the Spirit firsthand and discover a practical and prayerful way of discerning God’s will together for the future of the Church.
The day will celebrate the fruits already flourishing in the Scottish Church and feature inspiring witnesses to the Synod:
Bishop Alan McGuckian SJ of Down and Connor
Fr David McCallum SJ
Sandra Chaoul
Expect prayer. Inspiration. Real conversation. Time to connect with others from parishes, schools, dioceses and faith organisations across the country.
Lunch is included on the day.
Whether involved in parish life, diocesan leadership, education, ministry or simply seeking to grow deeper in mission, this day is for you.
Tickets £65.
The Bishops Conference of Scotland has organised this “FESTIVAL OF SYNODALITY” to gather Catholics together to share our experiences of walking together in Christ and listening with the ‘ears of or heart’ to one another to work for a more welcoming, opening and loving Church. This is open to all and is a great opportunity to experience what Synodality is all about. Please do think about it.

This Feast today closes Christmastide for us, as we now journey
towards Ash Wednesday on 18th of February 2026.
As we today reflect on Baptism and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit,
Gift of the Risen Lord, in our Baptism, we commit our lives
to Him who is our Lord and Saviour, and by our
Christian witness draw others to Him. Through the celebration of the
Holy Eucharist each Sunday, we journey closely, with Him.
God bless.

Our hearts are full of joy at the closeness of Christmas.
Let us prepare, in trust and confidence in God’s gracious mercy,
by a good confession of our faults and failings, so our joy be complete.
God bless.

We begin our journey of Hope as we prepare to celebrate
the Birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ at Christmas, with the
4 Sundays of Advent. With all the distractions from a world which ignores
the religious meaning of the Birth of Our Saviour, it is difficult for us to observe
a prayerful Advent giving time and attention to a hope-filled and spiritual Advent.
May the Holy Spirit guide our heart to focus on Jesus, God made man for us.
St Andrew, Patron of Scotland will be celebrated this year on Monday, 1st December.
God bless.

As we journey through November, praying for all our beloved dead,
our hearts need to be uplifted by the hope given to us by the Death and Resurrection of
Our Lord Jesus Christ, and our ears attentive to the promise of Jesus, to be with us always
until the end of time. Let us pray for the gift of strength through prayer to carry the
Cross of loss with a deep trust in the Loving Mercy of God.
We remember them with love, as we journey in hope towards our Heavenly Homeland.
