We have been having a Men's Breakfast at Holy Trinity church in Bolton-le-Sands for 10 years. Come and join us to celebrate with a bacon AND sausage buttie and coffee. This is not a religious service and the theme this time is, unsurprisingly, "CELEBRATION". Let us know you are coming so we can have enough bacon and sausage. Email: [email protected].

Temporary Library Opening in Lancaster

Dear library customer,
While essential refurbishment work continues at Lancaster Central Library, a temporary library will open at White Cross Business Park, Quarry Road, Lancaster, on Monday 14 September at 9.30am.

The temporary library will be open Monday to Saturday and will offer:

Over 2,000 books to borrow
Public computers and internet access
Printing facilities
A children's area
Events and activities, including Baby Bounce and Rhyme sessions

Opening hours

Monday: 9.30am to 5.00pm
Tuesday: 9.30am to 4.30pm
Wednesday: 9.30am to 4.30pm
Thursday: 9.30am to 4.00pm
Friday: 9.30am to 4.30pm
Saturday: 9.30am to 5.00pm

Please note that the extended opening hours at Morecambe Library will end when the temporary Lancaster library opens, as these additional hours were introduced while alternative provision was being arranged during Lancaster Central Library's closure.

Lancaster Central Library is expected to reopen in spring 2027 following the completion of major restoration and refurbishment works.

During the closure, customers can also use nearby libraries, including Morecambe, Bolton-le-Sands, Halton, Heysham, Carnforth and Silverdale.

We are in the period in the annual church calendar of Creationtide, from September 1 to October 4, dedicated to God as Creator and Sustainer of all life.

Many churches choose to use this time of year to hold special services and events to give thanks for God's gift of creation, and to renew their commitment to caring for our one planet home.

The timing of the Season of Creation means it is an excellent way of linking wider environmental and food security issues in with your harvest festival service(s).

The theme for the Season of Creation 2026 is living water, based on Ezekiel 47:1-12. God’s life-giving water flows from the temple of God, growing deeper, restoring barren land, reviving waters, and sustaining flourishing ecosystems.
