🌿 Can You Help Keep Distington Churchyard Looking Its Best? 🌿

If you’ve visited Distington Churchyard recently, you may have noticed that parts of it are looking a little overgrown. This isn’t due to neglect, we sadly lost the support of the Community Payback Service at short notice and have been unable to find an affordable contractor to take on the mowing.

We’re now asking for help from our wonderful local community.

The churchyard has been divided into 10 manageable areas, and we’re looking for volunteers who would be willing to take responsibility for mowing one section whenever they feel able. There is no fixed schedule, any help, as often as you can manage, would make a huge difference.

At present, volunteers would need to use their own mower, although we are actively looking to purchase a mower that volunteers could share in the future.

The Community Payback Service did an excellent job caring for the churchyard last year, and we’d love to continue the progress they made in maintaining this special and peaceful place.
