Philip Stopford’s beautiful setting of the text “Do not be afraid” was today’s offertory motet at the Solemn Mass. The first Sunday in September always sees many of our congregation returning from holidays and the liturgical choir resuming its duties- and this year was no different!

Thanks to members of our Liturgical Choir (Sarah, Lucas, Laurie and Ciara) who were invited by Bishop Paul to lead the music at today’s Glastonbury Pilgrimage. A rare opportunity to sing outdoors and to lead the singing of so many hymns! A fantastic faith filled day.

When the Liturgical choir are on their summer break, the music at solemn Mass is led by one of our talented cantors. Today we were blessed with two cantors, Sarah & Lucas. This is a recording of the Gloria from the Mass in honour of St John Henry Newman.

The choir returns next Sunday for the Michaelmas term.
