🙏 Wales' faith leaders have come together in a powerful joint letter to Members of the new Senedd.

Signed by 16 leaders - including Archbishop Mark and representatives of the Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, Hindu, Baha'i and Christian communities - the letter pledges prayers and support for the Senedd as it begins its work, while calling for antisemitism, anti-Hindu prejudice, Islamophobia, and all religion- or ethnicity-based prejudice to be firmly rejected.

"We uphold the innate dignity of every person, believing that all are to be treated with the utmost respect, recognising their religious freedom so that all can practise their belief in peace and tranquillity."

The National Eisteddfod this year was held in Llantwd, north Pembrokeshire and named ‘Eisteddfod y Garreg Las’ because of the blue stone (y garreg las) which is a notable feature of this year’s catchment area of Pembrokeshire, south Ceredigion and west Carmarthenshire. 📌 In case you missed it...

This September, Pope Leo XIV is asking us to look at war and the ecological crisis as two faces of the same wound - one rooted in the human heart. Drawing on the words of Isaiah, "They shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks," his message for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation is a call to conversion, not just of habits, but of hearts.

🌍 As the Season of Creation continues through to 4 October, take a moment to read his message and reflect on his hope that we might move, "slowly but surely, from desert to garden, from division to communion, and from violence to peace."

We are currently in the Ecumenical Season of Creation, which began with the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation on 1st September and concludes on 4th October, the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi. As part of this season, and our shared commitment to environmental stewardship and supporting our local communities, you are warmly invited to a special regional "Care for Creation" gathering.

This is a great chance to connect with fellow parishioners from across the diocese, share practical skills, and explore grounded ways we can care for creation and support local outreach.

Cardiff Central Council recently honoured four retiring members of the St Vincent de Paul Society for their outstanding contribution to the Society and their communities:

🏅 Granville Pearson - 20 years' service, Porthcawl & Bridgend
🏅 Cécile Boutet - Special Recognition Award, for pioneering prison visiting and helping establish the Wales Vinnie Camp
🏅 Marie Kramer - 19 years' service, Newport
🏅 Steve White - 25 years' service, Newport

Between them, these four represent over sixty years of quiet, practical service to people who needed it most - a wonderful example of Loving Service, one of the four pillars of Archbishop Mark's vision for the Archdiocese.
