Some communities in Wales are today, Saturday, January 13, celebrating New Year's Day. They're not just two weeks late, they simply follow the ancient tradition of Hen Galan and welcome the new year according to the old Gregorian calendar. As the tradition goes, children go from door to door singing and are given Calennig in return - sweets or money. The Mari Llwyd - a horse's head on a pole decorated with ribbons and greenery - is often paraded as well. So Blwyddyn Newydd Dda i chi gyd 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🎉
