Due to popular demand, we're delighted to again hold two sessions for adults this Christmas to fit everyone in! Join us at either 3pm or 7pm on Sunday 6th December for a festive few hours of creativity, chat, yummy festive refreshments, and a chance to pause together as we hear a short talk about Christmas ✨

Subsidised by the church, we try to keep costs as low as we possibly can for the community. If you have any questions, or need any help, please do get in touch - we'd love to see you!

Christmas is COMING! 🎄

We're so excited to celebrate Christmas over here at The Bridge, and even more so with our lovely community! So many of you have been asking - so, we thought we'd get the festive plans kicked off by letting you know the date of our 8th annual wreath making workshop!

Block out your diaries on Sunday 6th December, and get ready to book your places for some festive creativity*, to eat and drink fabulous festive refreshments, take time to have some good chats with others, and remind ourselves about the real meaning of Christmas in the busyness! Whether you come on your own or with friends, you don't have a clue what secateurs even are, or you're a seasoned wreath-maker - take a few hours out of the busy-season this December with us, we'd love to see you.

Tickets are subsidised by The Bridge Church, and have sold out quickly at all previous events - so do share with your friends and neighbours in the area and keep an eye out for bookings opening so that no one misses out!

In our summer catch-up take #2, next up is August!

In August The Bridge Church members had a 'love our community' road sign cleaning challenge! Some residents had mentioned to us that the road signs across Pontprennau and Pentwyn could do with some love, so, we rose to the challenge for the summer and cleaned as many as we could across the community!

We had a great time meeting so many people out and about and saying hi - some of the signs are in the photo below! If you see a road sign near you that needs a little spruce, why not join in! Take a little washing up liquid and water, and give it a gentle wipe - go for it, and send us a photo! 🪣 🧽

The leaves have changed and Autumn is now firmly here - with Christmas quickly approaching! Keep an eye out on these social media pages and our website for more information about what's coming up at The Bridge. Come and join the community festivities - we’d love to see you!

Summer is starting to seem like a distant memory already - but The Bridge Church was a hive of activity throughout the summer holidays!

At the start of the holidays in July, we loved running a free community Holiday Club where we saw over 150 children come along to 'Mission Unstoppable', and we loved getting to know you all and your families. There were crafts, games, challenges, bible stories, songs, quizes, dramas, family time, snacks, chats, and plenty of prizes! Thank you for bringing your children along- we hope they had as much fun as the team did!! We're all still singing the theme song.... 🎶 (Message us if you want a reminder!!)

Our community woodland 🌳🌳

We love a bit of community care for our environment, and after the litter pick in Pentwyn today, here's another opportunity to get involved in next week, this time in Pontprennau! Local Cllr Peter Littlechild is driving the beginnings of 'Friends of Pontprennau Woods' - so if you're interested in getting involved, get in touch or head over to the woods on 3rd October at 11am to meet with the Park Ranger to hear more and help make a start! All ages and skills welcomed :)

The Logos Hope ship has arrived in Cardiff Bay!

Yesterday lots of us from The Bridge went for a visit to see thew newly docked Logos Hope ship in Cardiff Bay! As you may have seen in local news, the ship has now travelled to Cardiff from their previous port in the Faroe Islands. The ship is owned by Christian organisation OM, travelling around the world aiming to share knowledge, help and hope!

We can definitely recommend a visit!
It's open to all to go have a look on board - a great opportunity to go and see a big ship on our doorstep, as well as meet lots of the ship's crew from different cultures and backgrounds who are all really lovely! It's here until 27th September and whilst on board you can visit the 'world's largest floating bookfair' (and it really is big!) with really reasonably priced books from a wide range of genres, and a lovely coffee shop (that sells good ice cream too!)

Community Connect is back!!

Whether you're a regular, have popped in every now and again, or you've never been before - there is always a warm welcome from a friendly bunch to be found :) Come along and enjoy a cuppa and some cake whilst you chat, or maybe play a game, or do a puzzle or drink your coffee in peace!

Open, and always totally free, to all- all ages, all stages! Find us every Friday in term-time 10am - 12pm at Pentwyn Leisure Centre. It's a great way to get to know others in the community, have somewhere local to have a coffee and cake, or just to get out the house on your own or with friends.

Get in touch if you or someone you know might want a hand getting there, or if you have any questions! 👋 Spread the word to your neighbours, family and friends.

The original ticket release was booked out in a matter of hours overnight!😲 Thank you to everyone who booked, we can't wait to see you!!
