With the recent 'Churches Count on Nature' 6-14th June, we started thinking about all the beautiful churchyards we have across Wales. Would anyone happen to have any photos they could share here on Facebook of their local churchyards?

Repair Shop On The Road casting call!

The Repair Shop experts are hitting the road and want to help restore local landmarks and shared treasures that bring people together.

This is an exciting opportunity to take part in the BBC Series, meet some experts and repair your beloved community object.

They are seeking community objects that:
👉 Have a strong connection to a local place or identity
👉 Are part of a wider heritage site, building, or regeneration project
👉 Are currently damaged, incomplete, or no longer functioning
👉 Could be restored in situ, with real impact for the community

If you are a group who have meaningful community objects in need of restoration send an email to [email protected] or visit the BBC Website: https://www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/take-part

Art, community and generosity came together at Van Road United Reformed Church during Christian Aid Week.

Working in partnership with the Van-guard Centre, the church hosted an art exhibition featuring work from local artists. Visitors enjoyed a diverse range of artwork, refreshments, a raffle of art and artist materials, and the opportunity to support a great cause.

Thanks to the generosity of artists, visitors and volunteers, more than ÂŁ400 was raised for Christian Aid.

When the noise of the crowd grows loud, where do we find peace?

Dorothy Courtis reflects on the story of the woman brought before Jesus and reminds us of the challenge in his words: "Let anyone without sin cast the first stone."

In a world quick to judge and condemn, Jesus calls us to pause, reflect on our own hearts, and extend the mercy that God freely offers to us.

May this prayer encourage us to seek peace before reacting, wisdom before judging, and grace before condemning.

Churches Count on Nature (CCoN) is a joint initiative promoted by Caring for God’s Acre, A Rocha UK, the Church in Wales and the Church of England, and is now in its 6th year!

It takes place between Saturday 6 June to Sunday 14 June, and so there’s just about enough time to arrange an activity or event in your churchyard or chapel yard that encourages spending time in nature. It can be small and just open to your own congregation or a larger event inviting community members.

It is open to all denominations, but if you cannot organise your own event, then why not speak to another church and hold a joint event or simply go along to one already happening near you?

Nearly 20 events are happening across Wales, and you can see more about the locations and any other information you need here: https://arocha.org.uk/what-we-do/churches-count-on-nature/

A series of free webinars will run all week, too and details can also be found on that page. Subjects include sharing stories to grow hope, making burial grounds a home for butterflies and one on lichens in churchyards as well as a more urban focus- on wildlife in towns and cities.

A Rocha UK’s Eco Church programme equips churches in England and Wales to care for creation.
