St Andrew's Church is proud to be a Partner Church

‘Peace is love that endures’

🕊️ On this , we’re sharing these words of wisdom from Jeremiah Burgess, the Founder and Director of our partner SHIFSD.

⚖️ SHIFSD works towards a just society free of illiteracy and poverty, focusing on functional adult literacy and entrepreneurship.

📚 SHIFSD’s creation speaks to the need for peace. SHIFSD was founded in Ghana’s Buduburam Refugee Camp in 2000 during the second Liberian Civil War. Jeremiah and his partners noticed that literacy had suffered; that there was a generation without a complete education because of the upheaval and displacement caused by the war.

🇱🇷 SHIFSD returned to Liberia in 2008 to continue helping others to help themselves through collective initiatives.

💛 Today, SHIFSD continue this important work as one of All We Can’s partners in Liberia.

It was wonderful to be able to celebrate welcoming four new members to the church family at St. Andrew’s this morning. Supported by family and friends we heard testimonies and sang their favourite hymns as they made their promises to God.
