Coronavirus update. We are delighted to say that, with effect from Sunday, 30th May, our churches are open for public worship including baptisms, weddings and funerals (with some restrictions on numbers).

Services will now be held at the usual times

St John’s: Sunday at 09:15 & 18:00, and Thursday at 11:00.

FORMAT OF SERVICES

Our services are still governed by Coronavirus regulations. Our buildings have been reorganised internally to ensure Social Distancing but we hope we can accommodate everyone. We are following strict Church in Wales hygiene and distancing guidelines to ensure the safety of every worshipper. On arrival at church you will be asked to register your attendance (for tracing if necessary) and sanitise your hands. Please use the QR Code if you have the App on your phone. You will be seated by our welcome team who will ensure you sit at least 2 metres from others.

The sacrament of Holy Communion will be shared in one kind only (bread); this will be distributed where you are seated to keep contact to an absolute minimum. We are unable to sing hymns but there will be music at some services. We will be ringing the bells when we can. Please follow the stewards instructions and please do not congregate just outside the church at the end of the services.

FACE COVERINGS – all 11 and over congregation members must wear a face covering at all church services within the building at all times.

20/01/2021

Public Worship at the churches of the Parish of Radyr is currently suspended until further notice.
Funeral and weddings will be conducted whilst it is possible to do so.

We all recognise that over this past year we have learned to communicate with each other and worship together in new ways. Consequently, until further notice our worship will take the following pattern:

Sunday morning: One service on Zoom at 10:30am. Normally, this will be a Eucharist service but other formats will be interspersed such as a ‘Songs of Praise’.

Sunday evening. There will be a recorded service available from 6:00pm, but once a month there will be a live Facebook service (time to be announced)

The Radyr Sunday club (via Zoom) will continue as normal. (Children of all ages are welcome to join this group)

To be added to the mailing list to receive the weekly notices and invites to the Zoom services please email [email protected]

Due to the recent raising of the COVID alert to level 4 across Wales the number of services across the Parish of Radyr has been reconsidered. Until further notice, there will only be one Sunday and one mid-week service held in-person within the Parish.

There will now only be an 11.00 in-person service at Christ Church each Sunday morning.
The only mid-week service will be held at St John's Church, Danescourt on a Thursday at 11.00

We will continue to follow strict Church in Wales hygiene and social distancing guidelines to ensure the safety of every worshipper.
Face coverings must be worn by all worshippers over the age of 11 (who are not exempt) at all times within the church buildings.

In accordance with the latest guidance from the Bench of Bishops in Wales, all church services and gatherings for public worship are no longer taking place. This includes our regular Sunday services and weekday services.

We are awaiting further information from the government, which will help us all to measure and reflect upon the gravity and potential duration of this cessation. However, given the information we have available to us at present, the ceasing of public worship and gathering is the prudent course of action.
