Cardiff & Vale Symphonic Brass perform at St Edward's this evening (Tuesday) at 8pm. Conducted by Matthew Thistlewood, the Brass Ensemble is made up each year of 12-18 year-old musicians, performing music from renaissance polyphony, baroque masterpieces and brass band classics through to jazz standards and cutting-edge contemporary scores. They celebrated their 35th birthday in July and have contributed regularly to our Festival programme, first appearing 33 years ago, in 1993.

We've found yet another new group of lovely friends at Forget Me Not Cafe - this week we were entertained for the first time by the University of the Third Age Folk Group. They sang a lovely selection of their music, some of which we could all join in. Another fun afternoon! And thanks to Penny for an interesting quiz!

A thousand thanks to our young friends the Good Gym Runners who came to St Edward's once again last week after the Forget Me Not Cafe (and stayed until it was nearly dark), and helped to cut back the brambles in the grounds (filling lots of bags) and planting some bulbs around the Cross which fell from the roof in last year's storms. All of us, especially our Forget Me Not friends, will take a keen interest as the bulbs grow in the coming year.

A lovely session of Forget Me Not Cafe today with The Good Day Choir. Altogether we recorded 98 people through the door! And everyone was very relaxed and happy. The choir sang lots of songs, and everyone joined the well known ones, and danced to the upbeat ones! A really good vibe - well done everybody.

Lots of fun at Forget Me Nots today with Alan's musical quiz - listening to the intros and trying to work out which songs they belong to. Then we all sang the song, and lots of people got up to dance. A lovely atmosphere.
