Huge thanks to
Janet Axten for her talk at the Archive on 27th August. We had a packed room to hear about Women in Industry, a project from 2014 that brought the community together to share their memories and experiences working in factories in St Ives, and what value they added to the workforce.
It was lovely to see many faces that had worked on the project, and some of people who worked in the factories.
Thank you so much Janet.

Today's shared photo from the archive is of the High Street, taken in 1910. On the left is a horse and cart from St. Austell Brewery outside the Consolidated Bank of Cornwall and Roberts drapery shop. The Queens Hotel and Bests ironmongers can also be seen with the Parish church in the background.
