Week 9 – 140 Days of Prayer

Day 57 (Sunday) – Faith That Pleases God
Hebrews 11:6
Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Prayer
Lord, thank you that you invite me to trust you. Strengthen my faith today and help me to seek you wholeheartedly. When doubts arise, remind me of your faithfulness. May my confidence rest not in my own understanding but in your unchanging character. Help me to live in a way that honours and pleases you. Amen.

Day 58 (Monday) Seeking God First
Matthew 6:33
Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Prayer
Father, help me to put you first today. Before my plans, worries, responsibilities, and ambitions, teach me to seek your Kingdom. Align my priorities with your purposes and help me to trust that you will provide all that I need. May my life be centred on you. Amen.

Day 59 (Tuesday) Wisdom for the Journey

James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault.

Prayer
Lord, I need your wisdom today. Guide my decisions, shape my thinking, and help me to discern what is right. Where there is confusion, bring clarity. Where there are difficult choices, give me understanding. Teach me to rely on your wisdom rather than my own. Amen.

Day 60 (Wednesday) Living in Humility

Philippians 2:3–4
In humility value others above yourselves.

Prayer
Jesus, you showed us what true humility looks like. Help me to think less about myself and more about serving others. Give me a teachable spirit and a generous heart. As we grow together as your people, help us to honour, encourage, and support one another in love. Amen.

Day 61 (Thursday) Being Salt and Light

Matthew 5:13–14
You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world.

Prayer
Lord, help me to influence the world around me for good. May my words bring encouragement, my actions reflect kindness, and my attitude point people towards you. Show me opportunities today to make a positive difference and help me to shine with the light of Christ wherever I am. Amen.

Day 62 (Friday) Contentment in Christ

Philippians 4:11–13
I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation.

Prayer
Father, teach me the gift of contentment. Help me not to compare myself with others or to chase things that cannot satisfy. Remind me that my security is found in you alone. Whether life is easy or challenging, help me to trust that your grace is sufficient for every circumstance. Amen.

Day 63 (Saturday) A Heart of Worship

Psalm 95:1–2
Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.

Prayer
Lord, thank you for all that you have done and all that you continue to do. Fill my heart with gratitude and praise. Help me to worship you not only with my words but with my whole life. As this week ends, may my love for you grow deeper and my desire to follow you become stronger. Amen.

Week 8 – 140 Days of Prayer

As we continue our 140 Days of Prayer journey, this week we focus on the hope we have in Christ. Hope is not wishful thinking; it is confidence in God’s promises and faithfulness. As we grow together, we encourage one another to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and trust Him for the future.
Day 50 (Sunday) Hope in God’s Promises

Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him.

Prayer:
Lord, thank you that you are the God of hope. When life feels uncertain, help me to trust your promises and rest in your faithfulness. Fill me with your joy and peace so that my confidence is rooted in you rather than my circumstances. May my life be a witness to the hope that is found in Christ alone. Amen.

Day 51 (Monday) Trusting God’s Timing

Ecclesiastes 3:11
He has made everything beautiful in its time.

Prayer:
Father, I confess that I often want answers quickly and solutions immediately. Teach me to trust your timing. Help me to remember that you see the whole picture when I only see a small part. Give me patience to wait well and faith to believe that you are working even when I cannot yet see the outcome. Amen.

Day 52 (Tuesday) Strength for Today

Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield.

Prayer:
Lord, thank you that I do not face today alone. Be my strength when I feel weak, my courage when I feel afraid, and my refuge when I feel overwhelmed. Help me to depend upon your power rather than my own abilities. Remind me that your strength is always available to those who trust in you. Amen.

Day 53 (Wednesday) Carrying One Another

Galatians 6:2

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ.

Prayer:
Lord, help us to be a church that cares deeply for one another. Open our eyes to those who are struggling, lonely, or discouraged. Give us compassionate hearts and willing hands to support and encourage one another. May we grow together as a community where nobody walks alone. Amen.

Day 54 (Thursday) Seeing Others Through God’s Eyes

1 Samuel 16:7
People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.

Prayer:
Father, help me to see people as you see them. Remove any prejudice, assumptions, or judgements that prevent me from loving others well. Teach me to look beyond appearances and recognise the value and dignity of every person. Help me to reflect your compassion in my words and actions today. Amen.

Day 55 (Friday) Being a Peacemaker

Matthew 5:9
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is tension, help me to bring understanding. Where there is conflict, help me to bring grace. Teach me to listen carefully, speak kindly, and act wisely. May my relationships reflect the peace that comes from knowing you. Amen.

Day 56 (Saturday) Rejoicing in God’s Presence

Psalm 16:11
You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.

Prayer:
Lord, thank you for the gift of your presence. As this week draws to a close, help me to find my joy not in circumstances but in you. Renew my heart, refresh my spirit, and remind me of your goodness. May I enter the coming week with gratitude, confidence, and a deeper desire to walk closely with you. Amen.

Prayer Challenge
This week, take time each day to notice one sign of God’s faithfulness and thank Him for it. Share an encouragement with someone else and help them see God’s hope at work in their life too.

Revelation 4:11
You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honour and power. You created everything and it is for Your pleasure that they exist and were created.

Prayer: Lord God, today we thank you for who you are. You are worthy of all praise, honour, and glory. Thank you for your faithfulness, your love, and your power at work in our lives. As we look back on answered prayers, we recognise your hand upon us. Help us to be a people who praise you not only for what you do, but for who you are. May our worship draw us closer to you and help us grow together as your people. Amen.

Day 44 (Monday) Thankful for God’s Faithfulness

Lamentations 3:22-23
Great is your faithfulness.

Prayer: Father, thank you for your faithfulness that never fails. Through seasons of joy and challenge, you have remained constant. Help me to remember your goodness when circumstances are difficult and to trust you with the days ahead. Amen.

Day 45 (Tuesday) Thankful for God’s Work Within Us

Philippians 1:6
He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank you that you never give up on us. Thank you for the ways you are shaping our hearts, teaching us, and helping us become more like you. Even when growth feels slow, remind us that you are still at work. Help us to encourage one another as we continue this journey of discipleship and growth together. Amen.

1 Thessalonians 5:11
Encourage one another and build each other up.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the people you have placed around us. Thank you for friendships, encouragement, acts of kindness, and the support of our church family. Help us not to take one another for granted. Show us how we can build each other up, pray for one another, and grow together in love and unity. Amen.

Day 47 (Thursdaay)Thankful for Opportunities to Serve

Let us not become weary in doing good.
