Every act of giving is a declaration that our lives are not built on accumulation but on trust. When we give, we loosen the grip consumerism has on our hearts. We remind ourselves that everything we have is gift before it is possession. Our generosity does not earn God’s love, but it does participate in God’s mission. Money matters because mission costs money.

So this Sunday, we will be having a Gift Day at CBC, an opportunity to declare that our hope is not in wealth, comfort, or consumption, but in the God who gives Himself away for the life of the world.

Our giving doesn’t merely reveal our hearts; it shapes them. If you would like to support our gift day on Sunday, you can make a donation in the envelopes provided on Sunday morning, or via the card donation points. Or you can set up new regular giving to CBC with the bank details that can be found at the church.

We believe that God consistently works through ordinary people offering ordinary resources for extraordinary purposes.

The way of Jesus often looks like loss to the world: less status, less applause, less accumulation.

But beneath the surface is another kind of wealth entirely. Peace that isn’t for sale. Joy untouched by circumstance. A soul rooted in the love of God.

The tragedy isn’t having little. It’s gaining everything except a relationship with God.

Sometimes following Jesus means letting go of worldly riches so we can finally receive the real thing.

Come join us this Sunday for a special baptism service, full of stories, singing and the promise of challenge and encouragement from God.

There’s a deep kind of peace that begins to grow in us when we realise our lives are ultimately held by Jesus.

Not because life becomes easy. Not because suffering disappears. But because even in the worst-case scenario, we are still safe in Him.

This Sunday, we’re looking at Revelation 1 and the beautiful truth that Jesus holds the keys to death itself.
The future is not uncertain in His hands. Resurrection, hope, and eternal life belong to Him.

And that changes how we live right now — with courage, peace, and quiet confidence.

We’d love for you to join us this Sunday.

As we begin our series in Revelation, these words aren’t meant to rush us into fear, but to draw us into presence.

In a world that feels loud and uncertain, Jesus leans close, not distant but near, steadying our anxious hearts. To hear Him is to be held; to keep His words is to live anchored in love.

Even in the chaos, there is a quiet invitation: slow down, listen, trust. The invitation is still open.

The nearness of time isn’t a threat—it’s a comfort. He is already reaching for you, even now, in the middle of it all.

Join us this Sunday as we begin to explore one of the most difficult books in the Bible - the book of Revelation. And as we do so we expect to be blessed as we meet together!

In Luke 14, a banquet is set—abundance, joy, life with God. But the invited guests turn it down. Not for bad things, but for ordinary ones. Work. Possessions. Preoccupations. And so they settle. Crumbs instead of a feast.

We’re starving, but not because there isn’t food.

It’s easy to miss this in our world. We fill our lives with noise, hurry, and distraction—convincing ourselves we’re full. But underneath, there’s a quiet ache. Because we were made for the table.

The tragedy isn’t rejection. It’s distraction. God is not offering scraps. He’s offering Himself. Slow down. Pay attention. The invitation is still open.

Come and join us this Sunday morning, 10:30am, for a special baptism service as we come to celebrate all that God has done, and remind ourselves of God's goodness towards us.

Everyone has their answers to the world's problems, and everyone has their ideas about what must be done. But when Jesus rose, He took the time to reveal Himself in particular ways, and most curiously of all, stopped for breakfast on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, to eat fish with His friends.

Restoring Peter to his role as an apostle and missionary for Jesus means reminding him that love for God is the only thing that qualifies a person for God's work, and only by the love of Jesus can Simon become Peter again, and as Peter looks to Jesus he must look away from John, and set aside his questions about what God is doing with his brother in Christ.

What does it mean that the resurrected Jesus shared breakfast with His friends?
Why must Peter be reinstated with a declaration of love for Jesus?
And why do Peter's questions about the other disciple get dismissed by Jesus?

These are the puzzles we encounter in John 21. Come along on Sunday to hear more.

Thomas stood where many of us stand—caught between longing and skepticism, wanting resurrection but bracing for disappointment. He had seen too much death to accept hope secondhand. “Unless I see… I will not believe.” Honest, raw, human.

And then Jesus comes—not with rebuke, but with scars.

And suddenly belief is no longer abstract. It’s embodied, personal, undeniable. “My Lord and my God.”

He doesn’t argue Thomas into faith; He offers Himself. “Put your finger here.” It’s an invitation, not a demand. Jesus meets Thomas in the very place of his doubt, not around it. The wounds become the doorway.

Thomas doesn’t lose his doubt by trying harder; he loses it by encountering Jesus. And maybe that’s the way forward for us, too—not certainty first, but presence.

Come join us this Sunday morning as we practice the presence of God together.

It’s hard to imagine anything more absurd than putting God on trial. The One who made breath, time, justice, and truth stands silent before a provincial governor with borrowed power and a fragile conscience. Pilate has Jesus flogged, but somewhere in the middle of the spectacle, a question begins to haunt him: what if this man is more than a man? What if Rome has laid hands on someone divine?

And yet Pilate retreats to the same question many of us still hide behind: What is truth? Not as a real search, but as a way to avoid surrender. Because if truth is not an idea but a person, then neutrality is no longer possible.

That is the question beneath every Easter question, every doubt, every delay: Is Jesus God, or not? If He is, then He does not stand before us for evaluation. We stand before Him. Come join us this Sunday morning as we worship together, pray for our community, and celebrate the hope we have because of the truth of who Jesus is.

Note: We are aware of the ongoing situation in our area and want to reassure you that you are still very welcome with us. If you are uncomfortable for any reason, please make good use of our livestream Sunday morning. However you're able to join us, we look forward to worshipping together and praying for our community at this time.

Imagine your closest friend in the world saying they didn’t even know you.

Jesus watched on as His prophetic words were fulfilled as Peter did just that. The man who was prepared to fight with swords to protect his Saviour, now reduced to shame and despair.

But...thank God this was not the end of the story!

Despite Peter’s, and our, denying, undervaluing and even belittling Jesus...He remains faithful. His love for us is not based on what we have done. So when Peter failed, Jesus remained faithful and graciously restored him. And so too, when we fail, He remains faithful and restores us to newness of life.

Join us this Mother’s Day as we learn more of the faithful God who, despite everything, restores us!
