We are devastated by the serious incident that took place at Big Church Festival 2026 today, in which a sign fell, injuring at least seven people, one of whom tragically lost their life.

First and foremost, all of our thoughts are with those who have been affected, their families and friends, and everyone who witnessed what happened.

Following today’s incident, we have made the decision to bring Big Church Festival 2026 to a close.

Don't forget everybody, the Canford Parish Church fete is happening tomorrow Saturday 8th Aug 10.30-2.15. There's a fun dog show, lots of fun and games and crafts for kids, plant sale, book sale, quality gifts, the most yummy cakes sale, lunches, coffee n cake, splat the vicar, come and have a go on MAF's flight simulator, church treasure hunt and tours, or come and have a go at bellringing. Bring your pennies and help us raise funds for the urgent restoration of the west end of the beautiful and ancient Parish Church that's stood in this community for almost 1000yrs.

Canford Parish Church Summer Fete, Saturday 8th August from 10.30am - 2.15pm.,
Kids crafts, fun games, Splat the Vicar, Cakes sale, Book sale, plant sale, 'No Tat Here' crockery/ ornaments.Treasure hunt and Church tours. Fun dog show. Have a go at Bell ringing. Light lunches, tea, coffee and cakes available in the Canford Magna Centre
Come and meet Tim from MAF a charity that fly aid into some of the remotest places on this planet, have a go on their flight simulator.
Oh and Ice creams available!
