A few highlights from last Sunday's Pentecost celebrations

We celebrated Pentecost in style this year with an international flavoured Mass. People came in traditional national clothing, sung hymns in Italian, African and English, read bidding prayers in 18 languages. We celebrated the Catholic Church's universality.

We also recommissioned and commissioned our Ministers of the Word and our Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist and 2 of our younger parishioners made the First Holy Communion.

This was all followed by a lovely bring & share of national dishes in the church gardens.

What an amazing Pentecost celebration!

TLC Care are hosting a Dementia Experience Bus at St. Laurence’s Roman Catholic Church on Milton Road on Thursday 25th June 10am - 4.30pm.

The bus aims to give an insight into how challenging daily life can be with dementia, by using equipment to simulate physical and cognitive challenges. It can be particularly insightful for the family and carers of people living with dementia.

Candles lit at the Taize service in the L***r Chapel last night to remind us that Jesus is the Light of the World 🙏🏼🎶🙏🏼

Part of a week’s ecumenical gatherings between Ascension and Pentecost in preparation for when we will celebrate 1000yrs since Jesus resurrection.
